I don't think you can die from having a few hundred volts run through your fingers. The electricity has to travel through your heart and fuck up your hearts rythm. Ie. put one finger from each of your hands in there.

Sorry for being a smartass

This is fucking stupid, and it wouldn't kill you.
Electricity ALWAYS takes the path of least resistance (as shown in my professional graphic illustration) .
This means that it will never get near your vitals, and so it won't be lethal.
It will just servilely fuck up your hand.
If you want to kill yourself with electricity, you need to send it through your brain and/or heart to actually kill yourself.
That's how an electric chair works, in through the top of your head, through your heat, and out through your feet.

Wouldn't the current take the shortest way and simply fry your fingers if you used two fingers from the same hand?

I work in the electrical field and a standard U.S. recepticple or outlet is only 120 volts. not enough to hurt you but enough the wake you up. so unless this is plugged into a 480 volt pannel, this wouldnt hurt too bad. Just tingle. TL;DR wouldnt hurt enough to kill you.
Pic related though.
