We weren't fighting with much better, either. Most of the British army at the time had no real combat experience. Some never even had experience with a gun due to ammunition and supplies being spars and few. Also, at the time the British leaders were somewhat incompetent. Our king at the time was suffering from a disease that made him mentally ill, rendering him useless. At the time, it mattered what the king chose to do. He lead the army. With his disease, his son had to step up and take the crown until either the king died (which he did) or wait until he got better. The kings son was an incompetent little twat as well. The [new] king spent a lot of money on his palace, in fact, he changed a ********* about royal palace - ranging from foreign artifacts and rich dimes; he was basically a little playboy (well, by their standards, anyway). Britain's resources were too few and we didn't have much money, so obviously the king was hated, this was at a time when poverty was at a all time high. The king didn't care much for the military, so they didn't get much support off him, either. The generals of our armies [at the time] weren't very competent, either. There was one point in the war, the Boer war, which was one of the most disastrous and humiliating points of the British army history. The general chose to fight over a hill and try and scare his enemies with the vast amount of men. It didn't work and they were all either killed or captured. I think that kinda proved the incompetence of some of our leaders. However, we did do good despite the incompetence.

thanks for the history lesson but since you have not sited any of these claims there is no reason to believe that this is anything more than your opinion. and i know for a fact that Britain was one of the most if not the most powerful nations at the time. You dont imperialise the world by being incompetent

I never said that we weren't powerful. The fact is many of our leaders were incompetent, which lead to many deaths and many losses; its that simple. Don't believe me, search it up. I didn't make all of the off the top of my head, so don't assume so.

Yeah, the government is of the united kingdom, in the UN it is represented as the UK, there is no England or Scotland etc, in fact the Scottish will have a vote in 2 years or so about their independence. In Sports it's retarded. All separate for football (Soccer), England and Wales play with each other in cricket, Together in the olympics, Northern ireland is with ireland in cricket and rugby, and there are more things. I don't understand them really.

Britain still exists, the British parliament is in England and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, also known as (the UK or Britain) consists of 4 countries, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Island. All four countries have the one passport and are ruled by the one parliament and have the one head of state.
Ergo that is Great Britain.

The British Empire still Exists today, and current countries under the British rule are, The Canary Islands, Cayman Islands, Falklands Islands (we may have another war over them soon), a large chunk of Antarctica and 10 other states under sovereign rule outside of the British Isles.

the saying "the Sun never sets on the British Empire" was coined as the Empire was never in complete darkness at one time due to the vast expanse of land owned by the Sovereign. You are right in some ways however as the Empire did Decline rapidly after the Second World War due to the tremendous cost to maintain and rise in human rights. only those parts of the Empire that Chose to stay under the British rule did stay, including the Falklands Islands (they wanted to stay in the British Empire as the Argentinians Would invade if the British left (they tried anyway and failed (they are likely to try again soon)))

The Commonwealth is a group of 54 states that used to be part of the British Empire (apart from 2 states), who want to promote democracy, human rights, free trade etc but not be ruled by the British Government, they do however, Recognise the Queen as the head of state, an example would be Canada, the Commonwealth have their own "mini-Olympics" known as the Commonwealth games, where only the Commonwealth can take part

All of our money has the Queen on it. On the other side it has someone who has contributed a significant amount to the progress on mankind. These people have changed over time, some include William Shakespeare, Isaac Newton, Charles Dickens and Florence Nightingale. That is just the notes, our coins have thousands of images on them, at the moment our 50 pence has images if the different events of the Olympics on them.

Most of those other countries highlighted were under British control for a longer amount of time or were under British control more recently than the United States. For example, many of the areas in Africa got there independence from the British in the 1960's.

TL;DR
America wasn't a colony for very long by history standards.
