I have seen a billion posts like this and I have gotten to the point where I don't want to defend myself anymore. It seems futile.
I come on FunnyJunk almost everyday because I want to look at something funny. Posts like this and the comments that come with it (Seriously, who says that the remark 'Get back to the kitchen' is a fucking blessing?) just make me feel horrible for being female. I have no problems with the jokes but this isn't even a joke. It's a fucking pity party for white middle-class men who ask questions like 'Oh yeah? Tell me why this is a male dominated society? Men are prosecuted for *insert same long list posted on everyone of these posts*'. You guys don't even understand how lucky you are! You're so insanely lucky! You can do whatever you like with your life with very little question. As a women I have trouble being taken seriously as an artist, a writer, and a human being. When I was little I used to wish every day that I could be a boy so that I could do all the things that are expected from boys. I wanted to be treated like a person that could be taken seriously and not like I'm some hormonal, flaky, helpless bitch. If a man expresses his intense displeasure about something he's 'being alpha' and 'acting like a man'. If I speak up like I'm doing know I usually get asked things like 'Are you on your period?'.
By the way, I don't give a fuck if your last girlfriend left you for three Spanish men with giant cocks and your Mom used to beat your Dad with a diamond-studded belt. I am not accountable for what other women do anymore than you are accountable for what all other men do.
Yes, I mad.

Dude, calm your tits. I'm a female too, and I posted this because I thought it was hilarious. As are the many others like this, cause in most cases it's true. We have to face the music.. There ARE double standards when it comes to female roles and male roles. Many of them in our favor. So quit your bitchin'. It's all in fun and games here, calm the hell down.

You thought it was... Hilarious?
It sounds more like you were just posting what people like (drama and self-pity) in an attempt to gain popularity.
I hate that 'I am woman but I think that we're so spoiled and dumb sometimes! Am I one of the guys now?' type of shit.

Yup you're right, Men are pretty selfish and spoiled a lot of the time. Mostly because we rationalize more logically than emotionally. Therefore most men don't empathize or, they're not "logic" when it comes to empathy and emotional issues. Women are better when it comes to right brain activities like writing and language skills, and "visualizing" body language or having an intuition. Men don't see the significance of a right brain way of thinking in this world because logic is what we're taught in school and pretty much white MEN are the ones who oversee the educational systems. Right brain thinking as apposed to left brain thinking is the type of abstract brain processes that were best demonstrated by public figures such as: Harper Lee, J.K. Rowling, Ghandi. These People knew how to influence the world by logic of a different understanding. In order to have anything, there must be a balance or a polarity. For instance man/woman, light/dark, logical/abstract. Without these polarities, the world would be unbalanced.
Part of the reason the stereotype exists is because we are all taught to believe it and act accordingly. By (women) acting "dumb", men feel less threatened to approach and open up for obvious reasons; women can attract more men that way. Our society as a whole almost all over the world recognizes women as second-rate. There will probably never be complete equality between genders because we are so genetically different; making us better at different things naturally. Although the line between men and women regarding abilities in jobs, talents, etc is very wide indeed. Be the best you can be and don't let the bullshit ensue through you.

I'm not meaning it like in terms of an every event situation. But men over the course of many millennium have established the ideology of how much better off they are at taking the wheel when it comes to "important" roles in society. In a lot of cultures, men are considered the ones who need to be pampered and attended to because they are indeed "more important." I know this because I am Latino and Korean. In Korea, the man is suppose to take control of the situation and is always listened to first. My grandma is also very biased when it comes to this; always talking about how women are always getting men into trouble and justifying men abusive behavior in relatives and what not. After all, it was Eve who tempted Adam with the apple was it not? All I'm trying to say is that there is a definite reason for why men and women have the roles that they do, and it all boils down to tradition stemming from the fact that men are just simply, physically stronger. Making men more important in a survival situation when protection is needed. Evolutionary roots are undeniable I guess is the moral of the story.

When you talk about our evolutionary traits you are missing some very important things. Especially the part where we sacrificed many things to become more intelligent as a species. The more intelligent you become the less relevant strength and speed becomes.
Also, it's not like we stopped evolving as a species. Our IQs keep going up as time goes on. Thinking that you have to stick to traditional roles because 'that's the way that it has always been' is going against the very idea of humanity itself. The defining feature of humans is our curiosity and our hunger to know everything.
One more thing... Nature-wise, males are more dispensable because you only need one to impregnate a group of females.

Hey there's lots of stuff that you can do that we can't.
Guys aren't allowed to do feminine things like wear dresses.
Also men can be conscripted into the millitary, you can't.
That's not to say that there aren't issues on the female side, you guys still aren't allowed to join the millitary in most countries. Just keep in mind that guys have issues too,

Foe a long time it was unheard of for women to wear pants. The reason why men are given crap for doing 'feminine' things is because being like a woman is considered weak or inferior. I can't avoid being feminine because my entirety is feminine because feminine means 'to be like a woman or to be woman-like in their manner'.
Personally, I don't think that anyone should have to be forced to fight.
Saying that there isn't male problems would be terribly sexist because everyone and anyone has some sort of problem(s). I just think that a lot of the men who go crazy over posts like this fail to see the enormous advantages to being male and seem to think that all of their problems are caused by women...

That's the internet for you, don't expect it to change by bitching about it in a tl;dr post.
If the internet really makes you feel bad about being female, I suggest you develop some fucking confidence or get off then internet because it isn't going to change.
And this may get me thumbed down, but this is coming from a fellow female Grow up.

Some people really seem to be forgetting that the post was:
1. Not funny.
2. Not even an attempt at trolling. If the guy was just simply trying to rustle my jimmies than I wouldn't give a shit.
The Internet in general doesn't make me feel bad about being female. I'm just sick of coming to a site that I enjoy and seeing the same fucking post about the same fucking thing and the same idiotic comments almost every day. A lot of people are bothered by this but no one says anything because people don't address the issue and simply say 'This is the internet, deal with it.'. Why is it that I'm not allowed to say this but in an Anti-American post people are allowed to support their country with positive results?
Again, I don't give a shit if you're a 'fellow female'. That means as much to me as 'fellow chess player'. We play the same game but we don't have the same moves.

I'll make this quick but first off if a man expresses his intense displeasure about something It has nothing to do with being alpha or acting like a man. If hes screaming I would look at him like a fucking retard unless its called for. If its illogical then hes called "a little bitch". If you speak up about something passionately and logically then only retarded people will ask if you are on your period. If you yell about something stupid passionately you deserve to get asked that.
If you hold men to a standard then men can hold you to a standard.
Question, why don't you live a standard-less life as opposed to generalizing the behaviors of men when I don't act in the fashion that you have described. Frankly, If we didn't have preconceptions of behavior none of these problems would arise.

I apologize if there were any misinterpretations with what I said. I'm not referring to you or all men in general but the men who go absolutely nuts over this topic and push it to the front page.
If a girl made it to the front page with a comic with similar themes and a lack of a punchline like this comic then I could make a similar rant. My thoughts about equality are that each person should be treated as an individual rather than their sex but we still live in a society where it really matters if your genitals are a certain way (for some reason).
What I mean by intense displeasure is in fact speaking up when you feel that things are not the way that they should be and taking control of your life. I have encountered many people (both male and female) who have been angry and even kind of scared when I speak up.
I like that you're a calm person about this. I lost my cool over the whole thing when I should have just ignored it.
