Ah, Ricers. The Plague of the car community.

The term "rice" or "ricer" (when referring to cars) describes any (usually Japanese) car with modifications done to it that do not help performance and are usually used for show like wings, vinyl kits, body kits, etc. What I see here is a Holden Commodore (Australian) that is in amazing condition that has nothing pointless done to it. How is that rice?
Pic somewhat related.

as an avid ford fan (own an falcon XR6 turbo) i have to say that that commodore is really nice, and i agree with you it looks almost stock apart from what i think are the CV8 monaro rims

pic related, my car completely stock

thats a holden. 5ltr v8. Thats an australian muscle car from the early eighties. Its worth as much as some of the cars in the back ground.

Ricers aren't limited to I-4s, retards. Any car can be made into a ricer. See picture. Dumbass

How the fuck is that holden riced out? It's bone fucking stock cosmetically. For all you know, he could have an LS3 in there, which means it's a sleeper (the complete opposite of a ricer)

In the vehicle community, a ricer is, how I remember it, a car that has been modified to look like it's a fast car and you race with it. I.e.: a 98 civic that won't even reach 120mph and it has a bodykit, spoiler, racing tires, etc.
User avatar #20 to #16 - Jewssassin (07/09/2012) [-]
Personally I know two definitions for a ricer car.
One is because the sound they make sounds alot like when you burn rice. i.e. Rice Burner.
The second is because they are usually Asian cars, and Asian countries have eat alot of Rice.
Either way they CAN be fast. Ive seen fast ricers. My coworker has a ricer Acrua that he had running flat 13s at one point.
User avatar #21 to #20 - kikzs (07/09/2012) [-]
I left that part out. Asian countries eat and export a lot of rice. They also export these cars. Hence referring to a car like a civic a "ricer"

Now let's not get into detail because I only know this because I used to have a civic, I don't know much else about cars

Was it a 98 that had a body kit, spoiler, and racing tires?
User avatar #23 to #22 - kikzs (07/09/2012) [-]
oh how I wish
no, it was a '00 4door stock, except for the sound system that it had that costed me almost $2k
