And I hypothesized that there were so many of the lights in that world because it is a place where everybody's life comes to a happy ending, granting at least one light for each person that's ever been there. Just my theory though

Call me heartless if you will, but I will say Clannad was sad, but nothing as close as these people are going nuts about allover the comments, I don't find Clannad that sad, I know what happened, happened, but it wasn't that sad to me, Now Afterstory nearly made me bawl my eyes out, but still not as bad as angel beats where everyone gave their stories as well as a few that left you in curiosity to know what they all longed for to pass on for never having their life lived the way they wanted and fought so hard against someone who was in end trying to help them pass on giving them a normal adolesence, ANGEL BEATS was waaaaaay sadder and had more build up

The name Yuzuru means 'to string', and Otonashi means 'no sound'. Also, the name Hatsune means 'first sound'. So it could be that Otonashi was a properly strung 'instrument' but could make no sound (that is, have no feelings). His sister, Hatsune, was the first to make him feel anything (his first sound), and Kanade was the one who truely brought him to life (in every sense).
