people like you look too far into it and consider things that don't need to be considered to understand. having to wear tons of makeup and getting an oompa-looma tan to feel good about yourself even though it makes you like like a fake whore is a stupid thing to do. raping a child because you feel the need to assert your dominance and feel good about yourself (in whichever way comes of it) is also a stupid thing to do, they just have different repercussions. now this is where you need to STOP analyzing it. they are both stupid things that people do to feel good about themselves. take out what the repercussions are, whether it's legal or not and the different moral factors of each and the analogy makes perfect sense. if you delve into any analogy at all way farther than need be, it will fall apart like this one did for you. for instance, a burger is like a cheeseburger because they're both burgers, are they not? "well, no of course they are not! one has cheese and one doesn't. the cheese completely changes the flavor and everything about eating it". see? i should have just stopped at "they're both a type of hamburger" but i kept going past the point and the explanation fell apart. that's what you do.

I'm not thinking far into anything... when I see a joke, even a dumb one, I don't tend to think deeply about it at all, I never let a bad attempt at a joke ruin the idea of the joke for me... but this isn't at all clever, this isn't at all funny, this is again, just a stupid post and an even stupider comment with the attempt at trying to be whitty and it failed miserably... maybe if the commenter had any sort of brain he could have turned it into something funny, but instead, he turned it into an idiot commenting on another idiot. There is no thinking too deep about this, because anyone with a brain cell can see that this isn't funny in the least, as an attempt at a joke it failed miserably because it has no real substance or intellect behind it. To make a joke you need some sort of intellect, and there was none in this, the attempt was there, but if he had made an actual RELEVANT comparison then it would have been funny, but it wasn't clever, and it was far from funny.

And I'm not saying this based on "child rape is not a joking matter" either, I understand that jokes are made all the time about things that are socially unacceptable. I'm saying this joke is not funny and is bad because, that's it, it's not funny and it's bad....

1) no (if you need to change yourself to feel good about yourself then do it, that's how people loose weight and get rid of their acne by actually DOING something about their looks, just because someone else doesn't agree with your methods of putting on makeup and orange spray tan doesn't mean it's wrong if it makes you happy)

1- losing weight and getting rid of acne are not masking your appearance. if you lose 50 lbs and naturally obtain the clearest skin you've ever had then that is the way YOU look. you can take a bath and scrub every inch of your body and face clean of everything that isn't your own skin and hair and by the time your done you look in the mirror and see how you really look and it's your actual appearance. you can't say the same about girls like this who require makeup. if they make themselves up like this and look in a mirror before a bath, they will see 1 person. they clean their face off and they'll see someone different afterward. having to make yourself look like someone you aren't is stupid because they have to be someone else to feel good. it's pathetic and stupid that they can't just feel good about themselves as themselves

1) If people didn't initially like the way they look then they would choose not to change anything about themselves is the point, they would stay fat, men wouldn't get hair growth treatment, middle aged women wouldn't dye their hair when they gray, nobody would wear makeup. If you don't like the way you look currently, then you make a change, if you wearing tons of makeup makes you feel good about how you look then go for it, if turning your bald head into a full head of hair makes you feel good do it. While some may think applying makeup to feel better may be stupid, everyone (besides the rapist) thinks that child rape is not only stupid, it's wrong, it's harmful to the child, it's sick, and it's a terrible thing for a child to go through.
