...What? Do people actually think that? If somebody said that to me, I'd be forced to rant about the growing population and how it's my duty not to have children for the sake of the planet.

I really hate that as well.

I do not like children, being female does not make me like children. Being female does not make me want to have children. Being female does not make me go "awww" at every small/baby creature that moves. I am deeply irritated and annoyed by the presence of kids.

People immediately assume that because I am female that I will want a family one day- and that I am good with kids. I do not, and am not, going to damn myself in that way. (Anyway, I could continue speaking on forever about how this makes me bitter- but I am sure people get the point.)

OP here (forgot to log in), I know that feeling all too well. Some people treat me like some sort of alien, others are more understanding. I think in a few years society will realize that not everyone is meant to have kids; They should be grateful that some have made that discovery before it was too late.
