Imagina arrow in the knee, you try to pull it out, it breaks in half and one half is still inside your leg

i'm not sure what hurts more, but given the choice i would rather take an arrow than a bullet. arrows plug up the would once they hit and block blood flow. that's why the arrow attacks in 300 were much more realistic than the ones in movies like Avengers and Hunger Games. yes, arrows hurt, but the mortality rate of getting hit by one is sooo much lower. not to mention the fact that arrows are much easier to remove than bullets, which you generally need to cut the victim open to reach it.

About the Avengers, though, we see characters fall over after arrows hit them, but that doesn't mean they were killed instantly. They were just taken out of the fight either by too much pain, being shot in the throat (in which case they would likely die soon, but not immediately), etc.

oh yea if the arrow hits the right artery at the right angle, it could easily slit their throat and they'd be dead in minutes
