This just makes me sad, not because I agree with him (I don't), but because people believe these to be the best metrics of greatness. What the numbers of billionaires and millionaires in this country? Job satisfaction? Upward mobility? Lack of corruption? Laying the foundations for modern democracy? GDP? Natural beauty?
We may not be the best in making people social leaches, but we are fucking awesome in terms of letting believe in the power of their own capabilities.
