thanks, sorry bout the attitude earlier. And I don't enjoy everything about them, hell you pretty much mentioned everything I don't like. I like the feel and construction of some of their songs. But I have to say that there's a lack of variety in all genres of music but I've never confused one AA song for another. However, I do see your point and respect your opinion.

no, it's not. it's entirely different. metal has a certain mindset, community, sense of ideals, ect. "emo" music is the exact opposite of those ideals, and we don't like it being associated with what we stand for. it doesn't matter if you LIKE a band like BVB or asking alexandra, be don't refer to it as metal, and watch your word use. you can say you "like it more", but don't say "it's better", which implies that it has more musical value, which, it doesn't.

its not the same thing though. there's a very big difference in the culture and ideals in the different groups. "real" metal, like Obscura, Angel Witch, Death, ect. has this idea of artistic integrity, staying true to your influences, and always pushing boundaries and limits. bands like AA value money, being "trendy" and being pseudo-emotional because they know it will sell. it's not about the music, it's about the money. do you think Death wrote songs like Spiritual Healing or Altering the future to make money? no, they wrote it to criticize systems that they believed were wrong. nobody has to agree with what i like, and because i like metal doesn't make my likes "better", just different. i don't like being associated with a group of people that are the opposite of what i believe because our music sounds "similar" in minor ways

Really, if I had a nickel for everytime someone juxtaposed a metal/hardcore/classic artist with some lyrics next to a shitty usually female pop icon (Nikki Minaj, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, etc,) with some of their shitty lyrics then made a statement about hating society because of it then I'd be a rich man. But my favorite part is looking through the comments seeing biggoted "metalheads" dissing everything that isn't skin deep lyrics and fast paced sweep-heavy guitar solos played over the rest of the band whomping on an Em. Honestly if I can play "I love rock n' roll" at the same time as one of your "brutal metal" songs and it fits almost perfectly then I can't personally take it seriously. But that's just my opinion and I honestly don't care what ya'll listen to, just don't attack others for liking something different.

I don't see whats wrong with her songs? They make some sense. If it's because she doesn't sing about things you'd prefer, you can't call her shitty for it. Her latest and best album, Teenage Dream, is the teenage experience wrapped up in 6 songs. Including messages of being yourself, loving whoever you want, living life how you want, and that you should be confident with yourself. Her last song, Wide Awake, is just a metaphor for Growing up. I respect your opinion (and your username has something to do with A7X, so good for you) but, Korn didn't really alienate most of their fans. True, it did sound like "dafuq is going on here", but on Narcissistic Cannibal with Skrillex, it was kinda of interesting. The reason Asking Alexandria gets so much hate is due to them having shitty screamo to start with, and putting semi-decent dubstep in there. Korn was fucking awesome with the screamo and metal in general to start with, and Skrillex actually contributed to make it sound good. Skrillex has some musical talent, like it or not, and by listening to his songs, there IS harmony, melody, rhythm and all that, but by adding it with the epicness of Korn (I'm not a big fan, but they're pretty good), it sounded like a masterpiece. I have no fucking clue who Kill the Noise are, though.
