That used to happen to me all the time when I was reaching puberty; it was embarrassing.
But now whenever I have that Oh-Shit-I'm-Going-To-Piss-The-Niagra-Falls dream, I either never go in my dream or I wake up right away--it's almost as though I've subconsciously "trained" myself not to fall for my own tricks.
Scumbag brain.

It's basically your brain has learned to stop itself from falling into those type of dreams. My brain also found a way to wake me up early in the morning when it's school days, it usually wakes me up when my alarm clock fails to wake me up. Since every time my alarm clock wakes me up my brain has learned to wake me up at those times the alarm clock would, and sometimes earlier.
