Yeah, let's all talk about how America has gone to shit, because everywhere else is so much better. Quit your whining.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah Quino... I owe you so much. I don't think anyone has made me smile so much while showing the depressing truth. If George Carlin made cartoons instead of stand up, it'd probably still not be as good as this, but it would be in the same ballpark.

God, FJ has a way to depress me. The reason it does is because it's so true! At least in America. The legs one is pretty true. The brain one isn't entirely true, because the internet CAN be used to enhance our knowledge, but not if you're young. The human contact one is actually beginning to be recognized as a serious issue by the medical community. The lack of human contact is mentally damaging us. The culture one is the one that hit me the hardest, because it's so true. I've come to the conclusion that most of society is ruined almost beyond repair. And you know what? We somehow will expect this kid to be as intelligent as the one who never watched TV, was taught good morals, read to as a child, and was raised to look beyond his/her self. We live in a fantasy world, people. We need to wake up. If we don't, then we're lost. I think that at this point, western culture, especially in America has seperated or is about to seperate into two distinct cultures: The intelligentia who have few children, but educate them and care for them correctly and the Masses, who have lots of utterly retarded kids. Education can only go so far when the parents don't reinforce things and the kids don't want to learn.

Why can't parents just leave out the religion part? Children are much better off not knowing anything about God at least until they're old enough to think for themselves and make their own decisions. That way you're not brainwashing them into your way of life.

Love this cartoonist. He also makes Mafalda. It's in spanish but I'm sure you can find some in english and they're enlightening also.
