actually I believe both you and op may be right, i imagine it would be very likely for a baby to accidentally get shampoo in their eyes being they have no clue what it is, and the tear drop pretty obviously indicates that this specific shampoo is made to be less harsh on the eyes to prevent babies from crying if ever they do get shampoo in their eyes, but on the other hand L'oreal advertises that their shampoo prevents tears, along with knots and split ends(see picture), obviously referring to the physical condition of the hair and not if it prevents ones eyes from burning and stopping them from crying due to said burn.

Mabye the pain of ur hair tearing if u dont by the shampoo?
