People were dying on both ends. We warned Japan, Japan ignored us. It had to be done, and we ended the war. Yes the bomb killed many many MANY people. But it also saved countless others by ending the war. Now 9/11...Fuck yourself for even saying that OP. 9/11 was a terrorist attack. We were not at war, and they killed purley civilians and took away our rights by doing that! Americans lost their sence of security and the country startin goin down a steep hill. Red thumbs inbound or not i dont give a flying FUCK!! 9/11 is a serious topic to me. Im a tolerant guy, im catholic and deal with all the christian jokes in the world from douchbag atheists and hispanic jokes from racists. But whenever i see a 9/11 joke i lose my fuckin mind. Ide like to see OP walk up to the widow of someone who died in the 9/11 attack and laugh in her face. Or laugh in the face of a child whos father never game home on the day of September 11th. They didn't even want to give up after the first bomb was dropped. they fought to the death and most historians will agree that many, MANY more would have died if the bomb would not have been dropped. What about all of the innocent people that Japan killed in China? They had nothing to do with the war either. It was inhuman what happened to them.

Japan was killing millions of Chinese, so they got what they had coming. Not to mention, we were not at war with Japan when they decided to bomb Pearl Harbor destroying a good portion of the U.S. Naval fleet. So on your logic, they had it coming. Also, New York is one of the most populated areas in the United States. So the plane was put in a populated area along with the bombs on Japan. I think it is safe to say I've destroyed a good portion of your argument.

meganinja (06/29/2012) [-] Actually, we had broken the Japanese code long before this, and so the higher ups knew that Japan was going to declare war on us and attack us on December 7th. So when the Japanese Ambassador went to deliver the declaration of war (it did take a while to translate so he only had 2 hours before the attack started) They told him the secretary of state (or whoever the fuck he was giving it to, I forgot) was busy, and wouldn't be available for a few hours. He tried to give it to the secretaries but they wouldn't let them. So he just waited there.
I'll give you that, but that and the Japanese internment camps were the only things I think the US did that was douchy during WWII. I agree that the bombings were needed.
Nowadays I can't really say as i don't know top secret information. I think we stick our noses into too much shit, and sometimes we are actually a help to the people who need it, but sometimes we just fuck things up.

America knew days in advance of the Pearl Harbor attack but let it happen so they had an excuse to enter WWII to show off their supremacy and use the military that they had heavily invested in. 9/11 is a similar story, no way could two untrained 'pilots' fly through one of the busiest air traffic routes and not be noticed by NORAD (who's sole purpose is to stops attacks like it).
America let 9/11 happen for a reason to go to Iraq, where it actually turned out that they had nothing to do with the attack as there were no WMDs or al Qaeda (a term created by the CIA). If you look at civilian casualties, hundreds of thousands of Middle-Easterns have been killed by American forces who 'liberate' their countries, in comparison to the measly 3000 killed in the 9/11 attacks. Thousands of people die everyday in devastating events, only when it happens in America do people give two shits.
