I have Played Provincial Rugby and football and i agree and disagree, i play running back and flanker, i think football hits are consistantly harder as they have gear on however rugby has the harder hits.. they may not happen every game but when they do, they are rib breakers and wind takers

Alot of big hits in football happen without a single thought, they just mindlessly run into eachother, no wonder they get injured so heavily.

I'm not saying all of them are, but in some vids with big hits, you see that some of the hits don't contain a single bit of thought.

They all contain thought. Part of the reason you hit so hard is to get the opposing player to drop the ball or to get in their heads. Football is a mental sport more than it is a physical sport.
Hitting them is also setting the mental tone. If he has the ball hitting him hard enough could cause him to fumble it or for him to hesitate the next time he sees you coming. Everything in football is done for a reason, and everything has a strategy behind it. Football is probably the most strategic sport in the world

With pads they can run upright and get more yards before they are tackled and pads protect them from injurys most the time.

No pads they would just play it more technically like rugby and wouldnt be standing upright in a tackle so shit like that wouldnt happen cos in american football you only need to worry about getting yards and getting nailed isnt an issue, in rugby getting nailed while standing upright probably means you are going off on a stretcher since rugby has so many more tackles per game and so getting hit like that 30 or 40 times a game would end you.

Before they had pads people died, so I imagine if you took them away and it would be the same thing.

Also, concussions are a huge issue in the NFL. They are wearing helmets with padding in them, and some customize the padding/facemask for more protection. And there's still that big of a problem with head injuries, WHILE they're wearing helmets? What's that tell you about the hits?

Only because people go full retard in American football.

They have a big metal helmet on and so think they can use it to take someone out so tackle head first to try to injure the opposition. Then they wonder why they have brain damage later on in their life.

People running with the ball go into a tackle upright because the pads protect them. With the pads they only really have to run as fast as they can and it doesnt matter if they get tackled or have shit technique if they just out run someone.

If you played it more technically you wouldnt be doing all that shit. American football isnt about skill, its about speed size and strength.

For the most part, all you need is some massive people who are strong who can run 2m and tackle someone.

You need some people who are fast and can out run people

You need the quarterback who can throw (that does take skill and a shit load of it)

I started playing rugby, lost weight for the first two moths then gained it back in pure muscle, then I got a foot injury followed by a bad appendicitis surgery and went back to being a fatass. On the emotional part, i made friends i never lost, i connected with my family in a great way (descendant of rugby players, breeder of rugby players), and learnt a shitload of life values.

Rugby is possibly the best sport in excistance.
