Haunter accepts his prison and becomes happier and more wild as he realizes he can troll anyways by exploding whenever you encounter him and then just regenerating later. He also paints himself regularly to appear "Shiny" so that he may explode and you do not get a Shiny.

No, because the Pokeball is designed to look like Voltorb, not the other way. Hence, it would be impossible for Voltorb to be a possessed Pokeball because Voltorb came first.

They had ancient pokeballs that had twisty-knobs on top to open them with.

What if when a Voltorb explodes, it becomes a Haunter and a pokeball?

What about Haunter being Voltorb's spirit that is released after it uses self-destruct?

Idiot
1. Haunter possessed voltorb? How could he possess a pokeball to become voltorb if he is possessing voltorb.
2. Pokeballs are meant to contain Pokemon. They don't just break like that
3. 90% sure haunter cant lern explode
4. voltorb isn't the only Pokemon that knows the move explode
5. haunter is ghost and voltorb is electric
6. even if thhe button was missing that would still leave a huge black ring
7. voltorb are about 10x bigger then pokeballs
8. If he was trapped in side the pokeball how do his eyes merge with the top half of it? and how do his hands not escape?since they are completely separate from his face?

1. That's what this is trying to say... Haunter possesses a pokeball and gets trapped and that's what creates a Voltorb. not Haunter possesses a voltorb...
2. Pokemon can break out of pokeballs at will, the balls just make it easier to walk around and travel with them. There are many instances where pokemon come out willingly.
3. Haunter's move set isn't what's important, the fact that once something becomes possessed, its abilities become the possessors, example: If a charizard is possessed the possessor can use flamethrower.
4. no, but Voltorb are infamous for their tendency to explode.
5. This goes back to what's being possessed, since the pokeball is a machine it would be assumed that it runs on some sort of electricity but the exact method of how they work is never truly explained.
6. Once the pokeball became a sentient being and began to reproduce freely the ring would disappear due to not being necessary.
7. yes they are but this goes back to them becoming a sentient being. Still not a very logical thing though.
8. Perhaps when the ball became possessed it activated the mechanism that keeps it closed so it became attached to the ball without actually being closed inside of it, a mechanism short if you will. And it's hands? seriously? Its hands are part of it's bodies and ghosts don't just possess with a single part of their body. Also, just because its hands aren't physically attached, doesn't mean they're not attached, When haunter possesses it its hands go inside as well.

9. It's a game and none of this is actually true, this falls into the category of it's part of the game... deal with it, and we all know a Voltorb isn't a Haunter.
