I'm with you on the earth bending thing, but if the Avatar is evil, then chances are the past Avatars won't give him the time of day. All of the past Avatars were peace-keeping goodie-goodies. So, the question becomes, "Who would train this evil Avatar?"

How about instead of "evil" he is ruthless?

Kyoshi was pretty hard core for an avatar, and gives the impression he crushed her enemies without touching her heart too much unlike Korra and Aang.

I would like to see an earth-avatar doing some conquering and kicking some asses.
