I've heared about this story, though, this version leaves out so many details..
It starts with Eduard, a small boy that lives in future, apocalyptic England. Martial law reigns the newly formed Leitopic, formly know as Europe. I guess this amazing artist represents the very monotome and censored nation, caused by the military oppresion, with the colour yellow, which normally is associated with happiness. Most likely this is one of the many brainwashing techniques used by the governement.
This is where the story picks up:
As on a casual day, Eduard, our protagonist, gets to his daily obligations, such as singing the national anthem of Leitopic, followed by working in the steel factories. What Eduard didn't expect however, was to find a memory of the past. Not one he had lived, but one that was restored on a CD, which is amazingly represented with an apple, which contradicts everything in the image with its colours!
The CD had only written 'QUEEN' on it. Eduard had never heared of Queen and assumed it must have been about the latest Queen, England had ever known: Elizabeth II. This brought hopes to Eduard, that this doomed nation could return to its state with Queens and Kings, not to have a monarchy, but because people we're free under this reign.
Quickly spread the word that an ancient object had been found from the times of kings and by every step, Eduard got more followers. People started loving the CD, even worshipping it (as seen in the artwork). It quickly caught the attention of the governement. They noticed people getting more resistant, a few local riots arose, more rights were demanded, etc.
This country is under martial law. In this picture, the dog is representing the law, having the power to eat 'the apple'. The CD was quickly destroyed, but that didn't matter, because what the CD, lived on in the hearts of so many citizens.
BAD DOG! This symbolizes the beginning of an uprise against the law, or the dog. What may lead next, we'll not know.. Yet.
