Yes, I liked the fact that Tarloc got a chance to redeem himself.

i hated tarlok the whole season, and now because of the last 5min i feel bad for him....

If general Iroh can shrug off a nuke to the face i bet Tarrlock could survive that explosion.

Well for one, general Iroh blew up the bomb before it hit him with firebending, and probably deflected some of the blow, he was later healed by korra. I'm assuming Tarrlok and Noatok couldnt deflect the explosion that came from under their asses, im also assuming that niether of them know how to heal, considering that as far as we can tell only female waterbenders can heal.

That destroys the purpose of what he did.
If either of them lived, the bloodline of dangerously powerful bloodbenders could risk being continued. Even if Tarrlok was good, if he ever chose to have children, they might not be.

He knew the bloodline had to be ended.
