The Hobbit, or There and Back Again, was set before the LotR books. None of those hobbits would have been born yet. The main character is a younger Bilbo Baggins, and focuses on how he acquired the ring.

It is set when bilbo is frodos age from lotr. Thats almost 80 years before frodos birth. Trust me. Frodo wont even be mentioned in the hobbit.
