**reptaur rolled a random image posted in comment #9 at Fungus ** cool more skrillex hate, even though he is a talented artist

Skrillex is a talented artist. He's just not very original or imaginative, every bass drop sounds exactly the same. I'm a big fan of dubstep and the sub genres that branch from dubstep. If you're a hater of dubstep and you've only listened to Skrillex, you're really missing out. If you wanna give it a shot, listen to this..

If you know you don't like dubstep, and are more of a rock fan, check this one out.

Talented artists can play instruments or sing. Not press play on a MacBook.

implying that it's just pressing buttons. It is difficult to mix and match different sounds and notes together in a form that sounds good, regardless of whether or not you think so. It's not just pressing buttons. It's changing the sounds, rhythms, beats, everything. if it's just pressing buttons everybody could be a dj.

It's not that hard. I make ads for radio, I know how easy it is to match sounds and beats together. He just glorifies it.

wow that is really cool. You should write a book about it. Why don't you go ahead and become a dj and sell some records then.

Wow! Thumbing down all my comments! You are so mature.
Look, I respect the fact you listen to Skrillex, but you should probably do the same for me when I say I don't like Skrillex.

i'm thumbing down your comments because i dont agree with you. And no your opinion isn't just "that you don't like skrillex" you're sitting here saying that skrillex is a talentless person. Skrillex has a lot of talent. I would completely respect the fact that you don't like his music, but what irks me is that you are saying anybody can just press buttons on a macbook. That is a completely different opinion entirely

Because I know how easy it is. I respect artists who can play instruments or use their voices well. And not just generic guitar riffs, they have to be special. The fact he does nothing *original* contributes to my definition of talentless. If you think it's so hard to arrange sounds on a computer, why do all dubstep/dubstep sub-genre songs sound remarkably similar?
User avatar #153 to #152 - reptaur (06/24/2012) [-]
lol. does it matter if they sound similar? lots of metal sounds similar. like i said before. If it's so incredibly easy, go become a dj and make a ton of fucking money. because if it's that easy then you should have no problem at all becoming a big dj should you?
User avatar #154 to #153 - dassnasty (06/24/2012) [-]
Yes, lots of metal does sound similar. And that's why I won't listen to bands that sound similar to another. Because they aren't trying to stand out. If you had said something about Airbourne being talented I would have disagreed too.
And no, I couldn't do what Skrillex does. Why? Because I don't have a macbook.
User avatar #155 to #154 - reptaur (06/24/2012) [-]
well there we go more proof that you have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. They have different djing programs. You don't have to have a macbook. And if you make beats for radio advertisements you obviously have some sort of music making program. Your argument has no logic.
User avatar #156 to #155 - dassnasty (06/24/2012) [-]
It was a derogatory comment towards Skrillex. My argument if I had made one would be, yes I could and only using Cool Edit, maybe Pro Tools if I wanted to try. But do you know what 'DJ' means? DISC jockey. A real DJ will use vinyl. So please, stop referring to him as a DJ.
User avatar #158 to #156 - reptaur (06/24/2012) [-]
djs nowadays are people who mix beats for clubs. and honestly skrillex is pretty unique compared to a lot of other dubstep artists. You're just kinda stupid in my opinion. talent is not equal whether or not it's your taste in music
User avatar #159 to #158 - dassnasty (06/24/2012) [-]
No, they call themselves DJ's. And just because I don't like Skrillex is not the basis of my 'no talent' argument. I love rock, and metal. But I hate some rock and metal artists. I don't like pop music, but I have found a lot of pop artists have talent, and even though I don't like the music, I don't hate the artist. Maybe it has something to do with the fact I grew up in the 80's.

I like about 40% of his stuff, some songs are just different i guess? idk

Not like we can't make jokes. People make jokes about Queen and Freddie Mercury all the time. Heck, a friend of mine played the song "I want to break free", asked me who the artist was, and when I replied "Don't know" he said "It's Freddie Mercury! Do you not hear the gay?"

oh yeah it take alot of talent to arrange sounds on a computer to make "music" Metal that takes talent.
User avatar #138 to #133 - reptaur (06/24/2012) [-]
yes it does lol. Just because its not your taste doesnt mean you gotta cry about it. If it's not hard then you should have no problem becoming a famous electronic music dj
