I actually love the Norfolk accent. They pronounce Lowestoft like "Lowestaaf", it's hilarious. But I have more of a Suffolk accent.

I took Maths, Film Studies and iMedia. In my first year I took physics as well but I failed it.
Fucked most of my exams up so I'm now looking into offshore apprenticeships. If I have no luck there I suppose I'll just get some shitty job.

What did you take?

Maths, Fruther Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics @ AS.
Dropped Physics and Further @ A2. Taking 5 was such a mistake, although I didn't do badly in the end.
What would the apprenticeships be? Also, practical trades where they can be called out at weird hours get shit loads of cash.

Ooft, I could never take 5 even at AS. You'd never get a free period!
I dunno really. I need to look into it, probably gonna talk to my friends about maritime engineering as I know a lot of people that work offshore.
Yeah I know man, the hours are pretty bad and work is pretty tough, plus you usually work 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off which I bet can get annoying. But on an apprenticeship alone you could be earning £250 a week. Pretty good for an 18 year old.

Offshore work like that is amazing pay. I set next to a guy on the train who works the rigs and he said, if you don't mind 6 months on and 6 off, the pay is fucking amazing and all travel expenses and accomodation is paid for. He said the only downside is the family time. But if you have an understandng partner, you do get 6 months together so not awful. And for an 18 year old, that's fucking sick.

Yeah exactly, there seems to be more pros than cons.

Yeah, I have a couple of places to study Medicine. Just gotta wait on my results now "/. Makes things slow because I can't do anything until I get my results. I'd be tempted by offshore work if I wasn't so weak and small D: 5ft7" (just) and 8 1/2 st :P. I'd be raped by that environment!

Haha, yeah I guess I'm lucky in that sense. I'm about 6ft, 11st 2lb. Not the biggest but I guess it should be enough.

Yeah, long unreliable hours aswell. Must be tough to get into too, but definitely worth it in the long run!
