I always found animated films far more emotional than real-time films.
When I can see the actor/actress, it's hard for me to get emotionally involved in the plot or the characters. In Titanic, I saw Leonardo DiCaprio, not Jack Dawson. Therefore, I know he didn't actually die, so I don't care nearly as much.
However, in an animation, that's not an actor, that's an entirely unique creation, given life by an artist/animator. Sure, a voice is lent by another, but the feelings, the hardships and all of the story is that of the character and the character alone.
Maybe that's just me, and I'm weird. Or not. But that's how I feel about the difference.

Crying up until the 20th century was actually seen as a sign of manliness. Not crying means you're a heartless douchebag. That's not manly. That's being a heartless douchebag.
I watched all three on my own initiative, because I'm a lonely motherfucker with a female best friend.

its because men can't relate to random dudes in movies but when an animated film is made the character is made so everyone can relate like for example i cried like a bitch during lion king because i love my dad , most children love their dad so all those children can relate thus they can feel for it. Girls cry at real love stories cause they just wish they had there own LOL
