My wish would be that every time I opened a book, I would enter that world as a character at my current real life age. I would then live inside the book until my death. When I died in the book, I would return to my body in the real world at the exact instant I opened the book. I could then reenter the same book at the beginning or at the point of my death, even if the point of my death was after the point the book ended. The story would just continue past the written point just like real life. I could do this with as many books as I wish, in any world I wish. I would be immortal, but with the choice to age and die at any time. If I entered a realm with magic, it would be like I had wished for superpowers as well. I've thought on this before.

that's actually a great idea.

Dude...... That's an epic idea for a wish.

I sat down and actually thought about it once, this would be an absolute power. Any fiction put in book form would basically work. You could even write your own stories to enter, letting you live out life in alternate realities if you wanted.

I would like that, but to enter the realm of games and shows as well

You could enter one of the many fan-fictions of the games or shows.

How about mangas? I'd enter for....fun

Haha, yea "fun" alright. They are classified as graphic novels you know. That fits in my wish

Another question. Would you be able to keep everything you learned form being within the realm? Or do you lose them but keep remember them as dream-like memories? It would make learning a new language or skill much easier. Although some that I would want to enter would be cruel

It would be like living an entire lifetime every time you entered a book, you would retain all knowledge from the experience.

Would I suffer from a bleeding effect like in Assassin's Creed?
#102 to #100 - zilance (06/22/2012) [-]
Nothing from the books could enter the real world though, just the knowledge

Each life is just an extension of your original. You would remember and forget normally. Anything you learned would transfer to real life, but your body wouldn't change so you wouldn't be able to do all the physical things you might want to do right away.

Seems to me like the more you enter the realm, the more you lose yourself. Especially with short intervals in between. As for the objects/things appearing, it's understanding. You can't create something out of nothing

You can't really lose yourself in the book because the character that enters them is always you. It's just as if you went on a journey to some other place and are having new experiances

The way I see it, you're going to lose yourself because all of the experiences that occurred within the book will change you. And once you go about your daily life, people will notice that you've changed. Almost like someone else replaced you
#368 to #342 - zilance (06/22/2012) [-]
Well yea, a more experienced you haha.

Not always a good thing though. You might develop a fear of something you once enjoyed. Once your friends and family find out, they're gonna wonder what the hell happened to you to change you that much in such a short period of time
#425 to #420 - zilance (06/22/2012) [-]
I really wouldn't care what they had to think. If I developed a fear, I would just force myself to get over it since I can have infinite lives. By the time they noticed anything was different, I would be millions of years old mentally. That or insane, but i still wouldn't really care either way

So in the end, you still lose yourself. Does going into the realm of erotic novels seem worth it if you end up banging anything that moves?
