I would think america be the fire nation seeing how we like to fuck up shit around the world with traits like our imperialism with setting up bases around the world in other nations like the fire nation colonies, and our lie to our people by making it seem like it's our way of sharing our greatness with the world like Zuko explained. Not in to start a political debate, just pointing out the similarities.

First off the US took over the world economically. We have bases all over because of the Cold War. Most of what the US is doing today and has been doing for decades is try to clean up the mess created by the Europeans. Africa, Asia, South America and Middle East are what they are today thanks to European imperialism. Britain set up Israel, their partition led to millions of deaths and they established most of the border and governments currently in power. Everything else the US does is because of UN peace keeping mission, like the incident in Somalia, so no it's not us doing it for ourselves, it's us doing it because he UN wants to do it. However, we don't want other country's to order around our troops.

Most of what the US does is go into countries already in deep conflict. If you're referring to the Iraq War and Afghan War let me explain it to you. 1. Afghanistan was withholding people responsible for an actual attack. You know 9/11? 2. Saddam was a ruthless dictator responsible for a million deaths and attacked our allies and used weapons we gave him against them and his own people. Most innocent people killed in Iraq were killed by their own insergents.

The Fire Nation if anything is Europe. You know since they actually did conquer other people, establish colonies, blend in with the Natives and tried to spread their "greatness" around.

I'm could get into all of the wrong we did/do and how we have no excuse for our actions, but like I said, I didn't want to start a political debate.

NO DOUBT AT ALL!! I was just saying that we seem like more of the right fit based on the fire nation and the U.S. Military Dominance. Europe is also a great contender for the role of the fire nation because of all the wrong they did in the past which fits the time of the old avatar series.

And in what ways did the US do any of that? Yes we conquered countries in South America and the Caribbean during the Spanish-American War. We conquered Panama for the sake of building the Channel but did you know that we gave the land BACK to them? We did the same for Cuba and many of the other countries. Did we do it to protect our interests? Yes. But ultimately what we did also re-stabalzied those areas as well.
We've already pulled out of Iraq after we stayed to rebuild their country and now we're in the process of pulling out of Afghanistan
Even if you want to take it back further like the Mexican-American War, I know it's considered insane to say this but Mexico started the war. The US offered to buy the land anyways but they refused and then they attacked a US base. The rest we purchased from France and Russia.

Any and all territories now govern themselves. Look at Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Yes they're territories but they govern themselves and even have representatives in Congress. I don't see where you get the idea that the US was anything like the Fire Nation
