honestly I thought this was pretty cruel towards women. Inb4 butthurt girl - I'm a guy. Iunno, it made me sad to see such blatant sexism in a book for impressionable children. Reminds me of my ex gf. I always hated that she was so subservient and wouldn't give me her own opinions. She'd always just try to make me happy. Couldn't be independent. Her words eventually meant nothing to me because there was always that knowledge that they might just be empty, only said to please me. But it's not completely her fault. She grew up in a very traditional, Asian household and was taught that subservience was more important than individuality.

But then I stopped being serious and laughed at the fact that such a book existed. Still feel bad, but this is a gem of a find you have made, OP.
