I think there was something that explained that he was a pretty good pilot before.. and it's a little rebellion against a fucking galactic empire.. they needed all the help they could get.

Yes you are right. There was a skeptic and his buddy from childhood or something vouched for him.

His buddy was actually a former imperial pilot, and remember how Luke mentioned flying his...whatever the speeder was and shooting womp rats.

I was talking about the guy who was sceptic about luke's flying, not the douche who thought it was a suicide mission(it really was). God I fucking love star wars. Why can't it be a one hour action drama?

Is it Han Solo the douche you're talking about?
And the "skeptic guy" was Commander Narra, leader of Red Squadron (basically the proto-Rogue Squadron)

No han solo isn't the douche, he's the dick. The douche is the guy who says it's impossible and then luke starts talking about how the womprats back home he killed were about the size of the weak point on the deathstar.

That douche allegedly in the script was Wedge Antilles, the most badass secondary non-Jedi character next to Boba Fett.
Until they retconned it, that is: starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Colin_Higgins

I have to disagree with you on the best non jedi character. I would have to say darth maul just on the technicality that he's not a jedi, but if we count him as a jedi, then I would say chewy is the best. He's mean at first, but he becomes the most loveable character in the original trilogy. In that scene in revenge of the sith, when yoda says his final goodbye to him, I nearly cried.

Dude. Badass. Not loveable.

And by "non-Jedi" I meant "a character without the power of the Force at his side". I thought that was rather obvious.

Wedge Antilles is arguably one of the best pilots in the galaxy, next to Baron Soontir Fel and Luke Skywalker himself; also, he's the best Rogue Squadron leader, ever.

I kinda figured you meant that by non jedi character, but I had to be the techinacal jackass with that. When you said rogue squadron, you made me dig up in my N64 chest and pull that game out. Exuse me whille I play some rogue squadron. Pic related, it's you.

...you have no idea how much I hate Lucasarts for publishing only the first Rogue Squadron on the PC
This/My part of the world never heard of things like Gamecube.

It's such a shame they cancelled Star Wars : Underground.

We'll have to wait until 2014, that's the earliest they'll pick it up again they said. 100 episode series, each 1 hour long. YES PLEASE.

I damn sure hope they're working on great story ideas.
User avatar #20 to #10 - daemoniccoyote (06/20/2012) [-]
It was supposed to be set in the 19 years between Revenge of the Sith and a New Hope, and featuring no main film characters.

They postponed it a few years ago, and said that 2014 would be the soonest they picked it back up.

not to mention it's in his genes since his father was a kickass pilot as well
