Well, in 1999 there was a lot about how the year 2000 is going to destroy everything.

Even news had speculations about computers. Will they or will they work when the year changes to 2000? Some were saying how all computer will crash and all that shit. I was 13 at the time and even then thought those people are retards.

Not to mention some religious nuts who were convinced that the world will end. Yeah, a MAN created a calender, and when that calender turns from 1999 to 2000, the world will end... Sounds legit...

The idiots who programmed computers and such before 2000 didn't think their models would still be used after the 1900's so they only bothered to have the back two digits be able to change. Around 1994 they realized that 2000 is coming up... and all of their stuff would revert back to 1900...

It would have wrecked banking systems, missile systems, navigation system... a whole lot of things... most worryingly nuclear power plants.

So they trained everyone they could to hack the clock programs and rewrite them to have 4 changeable digits...

Not really. He's complety self taught. He taught himself how to fix a machine that the official engineers and creators didn't know how to fix. I forget the name of the machine but it's used in photo editing.
