Old and overused. To be honest none of these are funny.

Disrespecting either gender isn't going to get you anywhere in life, grow up.

I'm not sexist. Sexism is wrong, and being wrong is for women

See, as that huge debate about who pays when on a date, I really think that it doesn't matter, whoever's willing, or whoever is in a better financial situation. If I was dating a guy that wasn't doing too well on money, and I could spare enough money for the both of us, I would. It's common courtesy. I'd do it for a friend. I'd do it for family. I'd do it for anyone that deserved it. So why not the person I'm dating? I also don't see why the responsibility always falls to the male counterpart. I think it's just nice of whomever decides to pay.

Pic unrelated.

Seriously, the only thing I halfway chuckled at here was the news column. The kitchen joke was amusing the first three times I heard it, and can still sometimes be used to good effect, but things along the lines of "I met a woman at a café yesterday, asked her why she wasn't in the kitchen LOL!" do not make jokes.

Sincerely,
18 year old guy.

I didn't really like this comp. It was just the same joke in different variations, get back in the kitchen woman. I prefer clever jokes eh maybe im just an asshole.

I smile at kitchen jokes sometimes because I really love cooking and spend most of my free time inside it .
But that work place equity jokes is a little painful sometimes.
I have to work my ass off two times than guys , to show that I am capable . When promotions come , they consider men first, give ***** like women may take maternity leaves, can't work overtime and ***** like that.
mfw don't want to act like femininazi but have to bitch up sometimes.

I'd kinda like to see a compilation of funny sexist jokes about men, if such things exist. I am a man and as much as I enjoy laughing at sexist jokes as much as the next guy I do like to see some balance or equality.

You know what? **** it. I want to have an intelligent conversation on sexism. It's probably going to derail. I'm probably going to hear "kitchen" jokes and someone is going to say " ****** ." Let's face it. But! I'm going to try anyway.

Sexism is still a problem in our society, but we are getting better about it. That needs to be addressed. I understood feminisim when it first started. It was a movement to push women forward and help them get a leg-up on men. It empowered them to do more than just cook/clean/have babies, and to have a say in how the world works.

Feminism in general has a negative sting to it today because most men think it's just about keeping that "leg-up" and actually getting women to a point that men used to be at, namely, having total control and pushing us (men) into simple stock stereotypes. IT ISN'T.

Feminism has actually gone through several changes, and a lot of the true feminists I've encountered now see it as a way to balance the sexes. It might not be a bad idea to change the word itself, maybe from "feminist" to "equalist" or "humanist." But the concept is still the same:

Keep women and men on equal keel. Make it so that one gender doesn't have an advantage over the other, and make it so that one side doesn't get the advantage by pulling the rug from under the other.

We men need to know:
Jokes like this do hurt women, but most have a sense of humor and will throw a joke back our way at our expense. We then cannot get mad at them, otherwise THEN we look like hypocrites.
Jokes like this often continue to exist because on a subconscious level, the people who post them actually believe what they say. It then gets ingrained in our minds and actually convinces us that was we're seeing is the truth.

Women need to know:
Most guys make jokes like this because it's offensive humor and most of the time, getting a reaction from an offensive joke makes it all the better.
We have come a long way, and it should be acknowledged sometimes.

Discuss.

I do not normally call out reposts.

But I have seen every single one of these at least three times before.
