The town I'm from in Norway is setting up hydrogen stations around the place, actually got to meet a few of the people working on developing the hydrogen cars they're introducing (here at least).

here in San Francisco there are. zero emission.

That's pretty cool... but how far do they go outside the city? And it takes oil to create the tires and glass and probably other components. There aren't any emissions, but oil was used in the making of those buses.

And it can only take you so far, and if you live anywhere in the South, you're basically fucked.

I'm all for bikes instead of cars, except we need oil for now for building and construction, and shipping and such. But in a lot of places, riding a bike is way more inconvenient than using a car. For instance, in Texas here, where it's over 110 even into October regularly, it's kind of retarded to only use bikes, because you can die from heat strokes in that kind of weather. Not to mention the fact that a huge amount of cities in the Western states are way too spread out to ride a bike around in, and the public transportation systems in a huge amount of cities are mediocre at best.
