My opinion of Amon through the series.

I think Korra is going to "lose" it in the finale, but will relearn the elements over the next few seasons.

They're trying to avoid making it like the first series so they wouldn't make her relearn the elements. I think that she will either pull some last minute Avatar State save or learn energy bending and give people back their bending

i don't think she will have to relearn it...i think it's more likely that she will do a last-second-avatar-state thing and amon won't be able to take her bending away just like bloodbending didn't work on aang anymore as he went in the avatar state

Heres my theory,
ok, so Aang was able to take Yakone's bending away through energy bending, with the whole thumb on the forehead thing, the same way Amon does it, so Amon must be an energy bender, and if Aang could do it, Korra should be able to do it, and if you can take someone's bending, you should be able to give it back, maybe, so if Korra can learn how to do this, maybe she could give Lin her bending back and then skullfuck Amon

It is some form of either energy bending, blood bending, or chakra blocking.
And it could be energy bending. It requires touching the mind and heart. Aang touched the heart from the front and Amon touches it from the back. The chi release in the first instance was mostly just for show and demonstrating the struggle between the spirits. Aang didn't have nearly that effect when he took Yakone's bloodbending.

Yeah, I figure that it will work at similar to this too.

I don't expect everyone's bending to come back, but I think Korra will learn energy bending and give it back to certain people

YES! i was thinking something like that, that amon only paralyzed bending or something like that and someone in the series knows how to bring them back. On the final battle of Aang and the phoenix king (ha ha fire lord) when he took his bending he used both hands and Aang turn blue and he turned red and bla bla... amon only touches his victims with ONE hand and maybe he's just paralyzing them... just a thought/theory.

(And i BET amon is related to aang and/or to air benders because aand was the first to lean how to take bending away)

I think that Amon is like the master Chi-Blocker. LIke he can take people's bending away like any other of his Chi-Blocker soldiers, but it lasts a lot longer than everyone else's blocking.

i though the last episode of the season would be reminiscent of the end of ATLA season two, have korra's bending taken away, but then it is revealed that bending is slowly recovered, and that is the rest of teh show

what about all Amon's cronies?

Fuck it, might as well try. Worst case scenario, get your bending taken away, which was inevitable if you didn't do anything in the first place.

i would probably let him take my bending away, then when he releases me, i would pull the string of grenades out of my ass and run up in there, scream "FREEDOOOOOOMMMM!!!!" and blow that fucker to hell

Why didn't she just remove the metal from her knees and bend the earth under her to form a shell, then just tunnel through the Earth? Seriously, there are man instances when they could have done something like that

Hitler believed Jews and jipsey, basically anybody who wasn't of arien discent were the cause of all the worlds problems, and specifically the reason why Germany had gone in such a downward spiral after WWI, so he believed they needed to be "purged" or "Purified" So He attempted to get rid of him. Similar to Amon who wants to remove the benders who he claims are the "cause of all the worlds problems." That good sir is how it is a Holocaust Refrence

I think it's less Nazism and more Communism. He's not looking to destroy the benders, just make them like normal people. Hitler wanted all of those people dead. He wouldn't have given them the chance to be like normal people.

OH, no I did get that reference, as a basis throughout the series. I thought that you meant something specific to this episode,( although, it could be said that the taking over of republic city was a reference to the 1923 Munich Putch)

I wouldn't say that, that, was exactly what the idea behind it was but it is a possibility more information on Amon and the equalists themselves would be needed to make more ties and to claim it as such

Im not saying that there is a direct link between the two events however there are a few similarities:
1) A man seeking power(hitler/Amon)
2) Help from an organization that agree with this persons veiws( the S.A/ the Equilists)
3) Help from a very well respected man with alot of power, to take over the city( Hiroshi Sato/ Erich Lundendorff)
Im aware that im probably looking into this far to much, but i can see some fairly significant similarities

This is the exact reason I havn't been on FJ for the past two days.
