OP here, I just wanted to say in my opinion I like toaster strudels more. I was trying not to be bias in my post. Reason being I just am never hungry for poptarts...

I've seen the Strudel commercials where they say they're better than pop tarts, while pop tarts don't do anything back, and are better.

Just like Quiznos commercials shooting down Subway. You can only get heated subs at Quizno's, you can get whatever the fuck you want at Subway.

But Poptarts have that stupid cardboard edge thing. Why can't they just make it ALL Poptart?

I personally think the taste one should be the only one that matters. If someone asks me if a food is 'better' than another I'd go by taste.
And you didn't have a control group, meaning:
A lot of them may not have even had Toaster Strudels. Poptarts are a classic, well known food. Toaster strudels have become pretty well known, but I'd say a majority of people have not tried them.
