Comments appear to be mislead.
Feminists want equality between genders so we're all treated the same.
That up there is a Feminazi, someone who says 'men are pigs' and trys to take all rights away from men.

Haha, but seriously, thank you.

feminism is basicaly the belief that we need to have inequality for both the sex's but only focusing on ones problems, not the others. men have plenty of inequalities in america, a man and a woman could be charged for the same exact reasons and crimes and the woman would get 40% less time in jail ON AVERAGE. plus men can be pushed around in society all the time, and no one cares, on the show "the talk" an audience full of woman laughed about a man getting his penis chopped off by his ex because he wanted to file a divorce. they where saying it empowers woman. if the opposite happened and a bumnch of guys where saying that a man who chopped his wifes tits off empowered men, the country would want his head on a fucking stick in the streets. Feminists dont pay attention to things like this. i am an equalist, i believe woman should get payed the same as men for the same job, but i ALSO believe that women should do as much time in jail as men. i dont only focus on the problems of ONE.

It depends on what type of "Jobs" you're talking about.
I work a part-time job at a fast food place and every female there, whether they are new to the job or don't do as much work as me, is getting paid more than me. Literally they are starting off at $8 or $8.20, while I've been there for a year and know more than them and get paid $8.40.
Pretty much at my job I pick up everyone else's slack while the women gossip and text and get paid almost as much as me. Apparently that's how its going to be at every job. Fucking perfect, eh?

no, and thats dumb and stereotypical. just because your experiences with 3 women in a workplace wherent up to your par does not mean that every single fucking person of their same sex is exactly that way, women work just as hard as men, regardless of the job. women and men, we're all the same fucking species, and the sooner you realize that the sooner you will stop being a bigoted assface

More like 21 different women.
You believing that everyone thinks of only stereotypes and calling them an assface makes you an assface.

And while there are women laughing about a man's dick being ripped off, there are just as many men who degrade women on a daily basis. Whatever accusation that can be made about women bashing men, sure enough there's the opposite to match it.
Comparing the inequalities of man to woman is kinda like bringing a needle to a nuclear bomb fight. Men do indeed have some rough spots in society, but a lot of them are emotional, which leads straight back to misogyny because emotions are associated as a female trait and is a bad trait for men to have because it makes them look feminine, with men from a younger age are taught that girly=bad.

so your argument is that men barely have anything to worry about, and little to no inequalities as women? thats the most idiotic thing ive ever heard, and ill be honest, plenty of feminists believe this same thing. but the fact of the matter is that thats just not the case here, it just seems that way because feminists like to act like men dont have any problems and try to make it look like some kind of isolated incidence. women get slashed and insulted in society just as much as men do, but making a mans struggles completely open to the public is okay? that isnt a problem to you?

Men have always been the dominant role in society for centuries and women are just now trying to fit in. So yes. That's honestly how it is for any oppressed group. Gays are just trying to get a couple of rights so they can be happy. Blacks want to be able to walk down the street without people looking at them and crossing the road to not meet eye contact.

Thing is, men are represented as the greater part in society with women being the lesser in this situation. True gender equality is actually perceived as inequality. A group that is made up of 50% women is perceived as being mostly women. A situation that is perfectly equal between men and women is perceived as being biased in favor of women because for so many years, men have been top notch without question and now the other gender is trying to actually gain some decent ground level.

A decent example of this is when people are shocked that some women will keep their maiden name when married, where a man’s position and feelings are placed above that of the woman’s in a way that is seen as normal, natural, and traditional.

Again, as stated before, the problems that are associated with men lead right back to sexism against women, because the top claim of problems for men is that they can't feel emotions or express them, because it's been led for years to be considered as a female trait.

The thing I'm trying to express here is the idea of privilege. The hardest privilege to understand is your own. Male privilege may be more obvious in other cultures, but in western culture it’s still ubiquitous. In fact, it’s so ubiquitous that it’s invisible. It is so pervasive as to be normalized, and so normalized as to be visible only in its absence. The vast majority of institutions, spaces, and subcultures privilege male interests, but because male is the default in this culture, such interests are very often considered ungendered. As a result, we only really notice when something privileges female interests.

i'm agreeing with creamy here.

speaking of priviledge, technically there is female priviledge, but it is better described as benevolent sexism. systems like the draft and chivalry often seem advantageous to women at first glance, but when examined more closely they in fact reinforce sexist institutions that keep both women and men from true equality. it should be noted that, while men have what’s called male privilege that doesn’t mean that there must logically be a “female privilege” counterpart. this is because, although many strides towards equality have been made over the years, women as a class have not yet leveled the playing field, much less been put in a position of power and authority equivalent to that which grants institutional power to men as a class.

men don't laugh at mutilation that's serious . and the degradation is also different the man imply's the women is a sex object .the women implies the man is a pig or scum and should die . completely different.
User avatar #324 to #320 - creamy (06/14/2012) [-]
Some men do, some men don't. Both genders have their fair share of assholes. Both genders have idiots. Both genders have those who refers the other as scum. Both genders. It is not completely different because there are men who have told women to die, called them scum, for the littlest bullshit reasons. As have some women to other women. As have some women to men. As have some men to men. Do not overgeneralize to make one category seem better or worse.
User avatar #337 to #324 - timmywankenobi (06/14/2012) [-]
I have not met a single guy who thought mutilation was funny but whatever. i agree there are plenty of assholes of either gender but women are on average more vicious and vindictive assholes.
