If you've ever poured salt on an open wound, it's like that, except 20x worse. Slugs lack protection to their environment (like many gastropods) and are dehydrated so fast that it causes a violent reaction in which the slug suffers and dies a painful death. Small amounts of salt will harm the slug though, not kill it.

If you put salt on slugs, they will melt.

For some reason, they melt.

Slugs are slimey and salt dries them out... and it hurts I guess...

Salt sucks the water out of their bodies and eventually kills them.

i wouldnt recommend it, you can OD on salt and die. there was a case in the newspapers where parents force fed their daughter six spoonfuls of salt to discipline her and she died. THE END O_O

i've never tried eating raw cinnamon (any kind of food, even the harmless ones sound more brutal if you add "raw" in front), but a spoon of salt is no big deal. i mean a few would **** up your kidneys, but one is acceptable

yeah man. Take some salt and go outside and put it on some slugs and see for yourself. The water pour instantly our of them and they eventually die.
