This could also imply that the church is working on a secret plan to send all the niggers back to africa

It's funny. But really sad that a church would say that. Considering Christ told us to turn the other cheek. Let our neighbor have our coat even if he steals our shirt. Just because someone steals something doesn't instantly mean they are going to hell....
User avatar #120 to #95 - redwolfradolf (06/13/2012) [-]
well as the so of a pastor, let me assure you:
"Turning the other cheek" is about the last thing on your mind in a situation like this.
Theft is theft, and churches don't usually have a whole lot of money.
I, for one, believe that this is a perfectly understandable reaction from the pastor of this church.
User avatar #124 to #120 - whiteyswag (06/13/2012) [-]
this is exactly the time for Christians to show what turning the other cheek is all about. I am a Christian and my church has had many thefts. It's frustrating yes, but we are in no position to condem our brothers.
User avatar #126 to #124 - redwolfradolf (06/13/2012) [-]
You can only say that because you haven't had to listen to your father stress over the churches finances every day, wondering if he'll be able to pay everyone in the staff and himself, and still have enough to replace the things that were stolen.

I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying I understand.
User avatar #128 to #126 - whiteyswag (06/13/2012) [-]
that's true. I'm not saying you're wrong in being upset. I'm just saying that it's no ones place to send people to hell. It's Gods responsibility. We are all human. Even theifs.
User avatar #129 to #128 - redwolfradolf (06/13/2012) [-]
Who say's they're sending anyone to hell?

You know it's probably just a joke. (with more than a little discomfort behind it)
User avatar #98 to #95 - heartlessrobot (06/13/2012) [-]
Theft is one of the legitimate circles in hell tho.
User avatar #104 to #98 - thrashish (06/13/2012) [-]
whats funny about your comment is that hell is a figment of the human imagination and not an actual place.

Atheism means believing there is no God, not believing its ok to shove your opinions in others faces. You give earthlings a bad name
User avatar #122 to #104 - divviyday (06/13/2012) [-]
Yeah, but thats like, your opinion, man.
User avatar #133 to #122 - thrashish (06/13/2012) [-]
and here is where some folks would say 'lets agree to disagree'. im not gonna go down that path, trin. ive been there before and i know where it takes me.

if i say the sky is blue, is that my opinion? or am i making some objective statement about an objective reality that we both share. how do i know that you dont see the sky as orange and call it blue? simple.. orange and blue light have completely different wavelengths. i can run a few varying wavelengths past you and verify that you and i are actually observing the same part of the elctromagnetic spectrum.

if i say 'hell' isnt a real place at all...its not really my opinion...its an objective statement about an objective reality that we both share. if you disagree with me...more power to you...youre wrong, but more power to you..if you want me to change my belief, youll have to come up with some substantive evidence.

User avatar #285 to #133 - mynameisfoo (06/13/2012) [-]
are you RETARDED? saying we see the sky is blue is a fact. unless youre colorblind or some shit. but saying hell isnt real is an opinion you fucking idiot, to even say that is an "objective reality" is pretty much you saying thats a fact, which it isnt. its fine if youre atheist, just dont pull bullshit like that.
#277 to #133 - lordmoldywart (06/13/2012) [-]
No one knows for certain whether Hell exists so why would someone be wrong in believing in it?

Retard
#262 to #133 - GoodGood (06/13/2012) [-]
you know how people are always saying Christians are trying to shove their beliefs down everyone's throats. Well i'm starting to think it's that way for atheists more than anything.. and i am an atheist saying this. You're always preaching about keeping your beliefs to yourself but atheists are usually the one's parading their beliefs around. practice what you preach.
User avatar #327 to #262 - thrashish (06/13/2012) [-]
okay. one more reply. this is my last one. i cant recall the last time i said 'keep your beliefs to yourself' tbh...what you believe (about anything) is pretty much your own damm business. if you want to establish any sort of common ground with others, however-youre gonna need to reach outside the box a little. what im both practicing and preaching here is an exercise in critical thinking. justify your beliefs. prove them to me so we can both have a better understanding of how this whole shitstorm works. on a lighter note, my tpb shitstorm pic is pretty good. =]

You haven't died, you don't know what the fuck happens after death, so stfu because you don't have any proof either. It's all opinions, on both sides of the argument, there is no "wrong" you dumbass.
User avatar #239 to #235 - thrashish (06/13/2012) [-]
sure there is..youre a perfect example of wrong. it just so happens that i know people that have died. oh wait...how dead do you have to be before you are magically transported to your imagined afterlife location of choice? no heartbeat dead? no brain activity dead? you know there are plenty of folks in hospitals right now that meet one or both of those conditions..

you stfu. dumbass.

my claim which i will reiterate in case you missed it is that 'hell' is not a real place in reality. it only exists in peoples thoughts. ive seen lots of things die, so i have a pretty dammed good idea about what happens...they rot..ashes to ashes dust to dust.
User avatar #280 to #239 - sneleoparden (06/13/2012) [-]
you know there also lots of people who have died and claim they have been in heaven. so it's just a matter of who you believe, thus making it impossible to prove which is why it's called faith and not fact
#333 to #280 - N. Korean citizen (06/13/2012) [-]
do you know of any claims by people who have died that have been in 'hell'?

The sky isn't blue, it has no color as it is composed of colorless gasses, it's the sun that's causing the blue color.
User avatar #232 to #194 - thrashish (06/13/2012) [-]
truth. the sun is pretty much the source of most of the electromagnetic spectrum that we are bathed in daily. i think we get some xrays and gammas from space but most everthing else comes from either isotropic decay or good ole sol. i think. im no expert, thats for sure.

I read your whole argument to my friend who is blind. he came up with an idea based of you whole argument. I can't see anything therefore nothing exist, but thats just my view of things.
User avatar #326 to #281 - thrashish (06/13/2012) [-]
your blind friend clearly has conflicting information from their functioning senses, no? you see the miracle worker? heard any good helen keller jokes? regardless of our physical limitations, we are forced to make value judgements about reality all the time. if your blind friend hears a train coming and feels a railroad track on either side of them, do they move? there clearly is an objective reality that we can agree upon. some folks just like to argue. most folks (including myself, certainly) have trouble admitting they are wrong. people are terribad about clinging to misconceptions even when confronted with overwhelming evidence to the contrary. my family is devout. i love them and respect thier beliefs. just like i respect yours (whatever they are). i really just wanted to post my new shitstorm pic. mission somewhat successful. =]
