There is other places such as the Bahamas and other places with clear water but its deprived of minerals. Ocean water isn't polluted, the salty taste is just minerals. So when its clear it has no vitamins or minerals to provide to salt water creatures. Salt water creatures are only in the darker water because its the minerals.
