Same here. It's hard as fuck to draw, but it definitely helps with other styles.
This was pretty much the first anime/manga-ish thing I drew that was half decent. I still suck at bone structure and mouths, but I've gotten good at eyes and hair.

For being new to drawing it, you're pretty awesome.

what i do is i take templates and vids then watch anime (not that kind) and draw what i see Im working on myself full all i use is a hb pencil and copy paper

I just draw multiple versions and angles of facial features and body positions, then try and put them together, and see what works out.
Other times I'll try and copy parts out of mangas.
