Remember, out of the millions of sperm cells that come out during ejaculation, only one will actually become a child. So either way, you're still killing kids by having sex one way or another. But when a fetus is formed, completed or not, it's still a human.

i feel that before the heart is beating (which happens around the same time everything else begins to function) it is a lump of cells, no different than a symbiotic parasite or tumor and removing it is not something worth consequence because it isnt alive, it is living, they are living cells but it is not alive. plus if you can abort it chemically then its little in difference from a morning after pill the way i see it.

morally i feel that being a man it isnt my place to say what someone with a vagina has a right to do with it. it should be a choice made between the woman and the doctor but if i was the father of a child and i wasnt keen on keeping it if i knew about it before roughly 8 weeks in i would have no qualms about it being aborted, after that my morals would be questioned and it would be a more difficult decision for me.

I disagree. When you get an abortion, you're killing a child that has already began life. Sperm is another story. Only one of those millions of sperms has the potential to become a child. But when you get an abortion, you're killing a child that is definitely going to become fully developed.

Can a 22 week old fetus live outside the mother's body without full life support in the NICU to help it eat and breath? no? Then it's not a life. Parents who give birth to very premature babies like that are actually given the OPTION to euthanize a child in this condition, because they don't know if a child born that early can even live, and if it does if it will even live a normal life.

So if you can kill an already born, barely viable baby, you should be able to abort it as a fetus. If it can not be born in this world without having our advanced technology to keep it alive, I don't think it should even be considered a viable person in the womb. A 22 week old baby born without the care of a NICU would die and would have no chance f survival.

My son was a month premature, at the age of 34 weeks he was very much able to live without hospital aid. No jaundice, no lung or heart issues. At an advanced stage like 34 weeks when you have a viable life, I think abortion is wrong. But when you get that far along, there are very few abortions even preformed, and the ones that are it has sadly turned into a life or death situation for mother or baby.

By saying that, you are furthermore proving my point. A child born at an extreme prematurity can DIE. That means that the fetus is technically alive. Remember, only living things can die.

I don't think a premature fetus like that should be counted as a life, it wouldn't be a life outside of the womb because it's not developed enough.

The Fetus requires air, food, and water. These are all supplied by its mother. If it does not get these requirements, it will die. So based on that, you can tell it's alive, even if it can't survive outside the womb.

It's not a viable life if it can't live outside and breathe outside the womb on it's own. To deem something as a person while in the uterus, and while it can't even survive at that point in time by itself is ridiculous. Personhood is dangerous, and I don't think you even understand how dangerous it is to call a fetus at 20 weeks a person.

If it can't live outside of the womb without care from our advanced technology, then it isn't a person inside the womb, and a woman should have every right to abort the fetus if she deems it appropriate for her. Regardless of feelings about it, you have to think about what's right and wrong. It's WRONG to deny abortion rights, because women will get abortions, and have always gotten abortions even before it was legal. Abortion hasn't gone up since legalization, it's only gotten safer for the mother. Make it illegal again, all you will see are dead mothers from back ally abortions or home abortions, and you will see many babies born with defects and issues due to failed abortion attempts.

I have to wait till next year to take biology but I believe a sack of chromosomes/DNA isn't nearly as close to "human" as a fetus with developing organs. They also develop a heartbeat within weeks.

Just gonna throw my opinion out there, I pretty much agree with what your saying, I think, like many things, abortion is fine given the right circumstances. If there is possible death or injury in birth its all good, but also think about all of those irresponsible people out there that would do a pretty bad job raising a child.
Just saying it might be better off for the kid to not have a life at all with no memories and emotion and such before they are old enough to realize their own situation.

Some people think contraception like the pill or Plan B is just as bad as an abortion.

You can't really put them beside each other, because abortion is pretty much scrambling up a baby that is growing in your stomach. Contraceptives help prevent a baby from growing in the first place. You aren't killing anything because it's not there.
That's what I think, anyway.

You take Plan B if you're suspicious that you're pregnant and it kills the embryo. The Plan B pill will terminate a pregnancy before the embryo has a chance to attach itself to the uterine wall, which can take anywhere between 5 days to a week. If you were to get an abortion within the same time frame, there would be no difference.
