Have you even watched "survivorman"? It dosen't sound like that... And you'r getting it all wrong with who is "trying" to be badass. Let's admit, they are both pretty badass. And about the plaussible scenarios, i think Les Stroud (Survivorman) chooses way more likely accidents and locations, such as boreal forest, southern swamps and alaskan coast, whereas I look at Bear Grylls as an extreeme sportsman. He always has top gear and clothing, and his objective is to come from one place to another...

Les Stroud also has much experience with the locals in different parts of the world, he has made a long series about it.

I haven't seen that much of "survivorman", but from what I've seen I don't think Les gives as much advice and guidance as Bear does. And, yes, Bear has top gear and clothing when in extreme enviroments, like who in their right fucking mind would go to Siberia without extreme thermal clothing? But his gear? I wouldn't say that a knife, water bottle and a flint would be considered as anything but usual gear... And you're right about Bear trying to get from point A to B in his show, but isn't that what survival is about? When you're stranded in the wilderness you can't sit around and wait for a helicopter, airplane or boat etc. to come an pick you up. So that's why I personally like Bear Grylls. And, as you mentioned, they're probably both pretty badass...

I can see why people like different versions of survivor-shows... Personally I like Bears' shows because of what I've mentioned above, but everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

Those are some valid points, I guess I just like the choices and methods of Les compared to Bear.

I hate survivor man, because he is fucking bullshit. He sits around for a week and never manages to get himself some food, and after 7 days of no food he just climbs a fucking mountain? Have anyone gone a week without food outside? well let me tell you that without food for a week you can't just walk up a mountain and back down to place a camera so he can film himself climb it again. And lets not forget that you can get hypothermia from just looking at cold weather according to him. He uses all the time on screen to tell how hard everything can be when its really not that dangerous as he always makes it out to be

You can actually go on for about 60 days without food until you die. And when you set your mind to survive your body won't feel the effects of starvation...

He eat's, he just doesn't always eat enough. He takes precautions, and I bet that, unless you are a skilled outdoorsman, you wouldn't be able to survive in his place...

I know you can, but 60 days is the exstrem, what I mean is that people after a week without food will not have the energy for the things he does. I went over a week without food when my girlfriend left me last year and it was a pain just to get out of bed. He sets a camera at the bottom of the mountain, climbs up, films hes camera at the bottom of the mountain and walks back down to get it? Not something you could do without food. And he has horrible tips for how to survive, why? because he never mange to do what he tell the audience to do himself.

It is the extreme yes, but he is away for 7 days a a time, and as i stated earlier you dont' feel it quite as much, when you're in a survival mode. And I'm sorry to hear about your girlfriend by the way...

I have never been in a survivor mode so I wouldn't really know, I was in kinda a rant about him since I kinda hate that people bash on Bear when we all know its fake, buts its to show how to survive and survivor man is more a promotion of him as a person.

In Bear's defense, his show is for demonstrative purposes on how to survive and escape from perilous environments. Survivorman, yes, he tries to survive.

And bear shows you how to get out of the worst possible conditions, like when he jumped into that patch of quicksand in the freezing cold, while Les teaches you about more realistic situations.

When you said "worst possible", did you also mean "unlikely"?

I feel like Bear takes it too far sometimes. I could never do some of the stuff he does if I knew I didn't have to. I still respect him, though, cause he can survive if something goes wrong.

Let's just say both are good. Les teaches you more realistic stuff, Bear teaches you how to get out of quicksand or when you broke into a frozen sea.

And I've never seen survivor man drink the liquids out of a freshly squeezed elephant shit
