I've never played minecraft on xbox. How is it compared to the PC version?

I have the PC version, and own an xbox. Considering buying it on xbox, but don't know if I should. Advice? Experiences?

Imagine PC minecraft, take out half the features, add retarded controls, instructions for EVERYTHING*,limited worlds and no servers or skins.

* the first time you see a zombie is says they hurt you if they get close.
* there is no crafting square, you select what you want to make and it makes it. If you have the materials.

It's pretty much the same thing. Less items though, and a different crafting interface. I like the controls better though.

Umm you can always download the about 10-20 minute trail for free which is like 120mb...Also, this is an alpha version of minecraft, but it is said that it will be updated in time.

I wouldn't recommend it. The crafting system went down so 5 year olds can understand it. Instead of actually making things you just pull up a menu by activating a crafting table. The PC version a lot better. The Xbox uses the beta version of the PC.

That sucks with the crafting.... Half of the fun was figuring out how to make shit, or having to look up recipes online..

But there it is, everyone looked it up anyway, why bother having it complicated when 90% of people just went to the wiki?

fucking right... hopefuly they will put in a mode where you can set it to like, hardcore. but at like normal(or hard) and you have to craft the shit yourself. like the computer.

That's the main reason why I don't like the 360 version.

The Xbox version is basically the early BETA version of Minecraft on PC. Old light engine, no hunger system, etc. It's worth it if you ask me, as playing with friends is much much easier, and playing Minecraft on the couch a Friday night sounds awesome. I'm a PS3 owner, so I can only tell you from what I know about the Xbox version.

Any idea how much it costs? My cousin has been trying to get me to buy it, but not sure if I want to spend the money, or suck myself back into the time killer that is Minecraft... I don't even want to know how long I played the PC version..

It's 1600 microsoft points, so roughly the same as the PC version.

Haha I know that feel bro, I've been playing the same game since it's early Alpha stages. The game is awesome man, and I think that the simple multiplayer features and the different way you play the game is a good enough reason to buy the game. Plus, playing this version is like coming back in the old days. But it's your money man, you do what you want. If money is a issue, then don't bother. It still is the same 'game' at the end of the day. If money isn't, then it is worth it.

I could have gotten it when it was in alpha, but I was an idiot and told my friend that I wasn't interested because I was into Infiniminer at the time.... Got it in really early beta, though. After I saw him playing it... Could have gotten it really cheap, but no.. I like spending more than I have to XD

Haha. I played the free 'classic' version online for a few weeks every day; I just felt like I needed to buy this beast of game. For €10, it was worth it. X100000.

I know. For the amount of enjoyment I got out of that game, it was worth every penny I paid.

if your cousin has the 360 version just get him to licence transfer it and get it for free
User avatar #160 to #157 - gazoogo (06/03/2012) [-]
You can do that?? Damn. You may have just saved me money. Thanks
User avatar #162 to #160 - mopmanmoss (06/03/2012) [-]
get his profile on to your xbox, then licence transfer and you can download everything he has previously purchased as well as minecraft itself
User avatar #165 to #162 - gazoogo (06/03/2012) [-]
That's sweet. I'll have to do that once I'm done with finals. Thanks, man.

My friend is trying to get me to do that
