i once went to vietnam for a vacation and brought my 8 year old son with me. we were walking through the "market row" when my son saw this place with a bunch of puppies in it... i told him he could pick one out so we could bring it home with us as a gift for his mother. he picked out the cutest most adorable puppy there. i told the lady that was the one we wanted. she brought the puppy into the back and came back out with what looked like a pack of hamburger you might get from the grocery store...
i told him the lady had given us the food so we could feed the dog when it was shipped to us in a couple weeks, then spent about a week looking for a dog that looked about the same as the one he wanted.... My son is 15 now, and still doesn't know that his beloved dog Trouble (i let him name it) was not actually from Vientam...

i find it amusing how people get so upset at the thought of other cultures eating what we view as domestic animals, where in those cultures they might think the same of us eating cows or chickens
all in all, it's simply proof that america is full of closed minded, ignorant people who aren't willing to realise that meat is meat no matter where you get it, so if you like it then eat it, if you don't then don't... don't complain about how people eat one kind of meat when you eat another
