Yes and no. In the comic Thor turned into Donald Blake if he was away from his hammer for too long because Odin had combines the two in order to teach Thor a lesson. In the movie this didn't happen. Odin did take away his power and make him earn it again but he never combined him with Blake. So in the movie Thor would still retain his god power even if separated and only lose it if Odin decided to drop the ban hammer.
