If you've somehow avoided hearing about the FunnyJunk controversy over the last few days, here's the deal. FunnyJunk users have been taking original content from r/fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu and reposting it to FunnyJunk, often claiming it as their own. Redditors have made comics which discuss methods of preventing comic theft, and they too have been reposted to FunnyJunk, sometimes reversing the roles and claiming that reddit is stealing FunnyJunk's original content. Redditors have commented on FunnyJunk complaining about the theft, FunnyJunk users have "declared war" on r/fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu and threatened to start spamming, redditors have begun spamming FunnyJunk – you get the gist.
So here's the deal. STOP HUMORING THEM. FunnyJunk is a tiny website with an immature userbase and you're embarrassing reddit by lowering yourselves to their level. If they steal your comics, that's too bad – anything posted to reddit immediately becomes publicly available to the entire internet, regardless of which website it's seen on. Comics are reblogged on Tumblr, posted on Facebook, sent over AIM without any attribution to the original source. What do you expect when you post something on the internet?
This means:

Don't spam FunnyJunk. Come on, guys. This should really go without saying.
Don't complain about comics being reposted on FunnyJunk. Existing comics of this sort will be let be, but such comics submitted after the time of this announcement (8:26 PM EDT) will be removed.
Don't propose new ways to prevent comics from being "stolen". The same policy will be followed as with point number 2.
Don't give any publicity to the "war" FunnyJunk has waged on us. If FunnyJunk users spam r/fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu they will be dealt with in the same way other spammers are dealt with.
In short, act like FunnyJunk doesn't exist. Because really, it barely does.
