As a kid my parents got divorced, so I lived with my mom most of the time. She was extremely religious so I'd go to church, pray, learn about bible passages and all that. I later moved with my dad who's family never really talked about religion. After learning about both lifestyles I decided to be an atheist. It doesn't really matter what anyone chooses. As long as you're not a dick about it.

atheist does not mean "not religious". you can be a theist and not religious, and you can be an atheist but religious.

no problem man. its just i thought not everyone chooses what to believe, and since atheism is to believe that there is no deity. its hard to JUST believe or not believe, it could take time and thinking in different ways to change or switch beliefs. just pointing that out for you.

Well honestly I found it hard to believe in religion my entire life. What I was trying to say is that as long as you don't bother people with your beliefs, then you can believe whatever you like.
