Coupled with the fact that most people (Or Americans, at least) are convinced they've found 'the one' at 22 or 23, when they're too young to really know shit about love.

And one of those 'puppy-love'rs thumbed me down. It's the truth, people.
When you're young and in love, you're on the top of the world and you're ready to live your life with this person. But, as the divorce rate shows, you're probably wrong. Go out, date some more people, get some more experience, before you make a life-changing decision and then become part of a statistic.
It's like buying a car, you can't do too much research or have too much experience.

In addition, I've seen it happen with my own eyes.
My older brother is one of the nicest, most responsible yet most laidback people you'll ever meet. He fell in love with a nice, smart girl in high school, they dated for 4 years, got married when he was 21, and they were married for maybe a year before they started growing apart and she cheated on him for (literally) a hillbilly who lives in a trailer. Her own father was shocked that her standards had plummeted.
My brother is now dating again, and he's told us (The rest of my family) that he went too fast and started too early. That people need to enjoy life and go party, go on bunches of dates and whatnot when you're young, and save settling down and starting a family for when you're at least in your late-20s.
