A lot of people do. Depends what you program. Some programmers write things that the IDE/compiler won't even allow to compile until they get to certain points... For instance when I write the primer game code, it'll usually be around 1000 lines before I can actually compile or run anything, because it'll have so many references to nonexistent objects and functions.

No, for telling a computer science major that knows what he's doing that he's using it, acting like a Mac fanboy, acting like it's so superior in every way. When in reality, most computer science majors start with basics, then work with the win32 API, then the assembly code, none of which would run any better on Linux.

Yeah, it's false too. Windows is point and click "next" 5 times to install something. Linux is "track down repository, make sure it's still active, make sure it's compatible, add repository, find appropriate packages in the repository, install, fix compatibility errors with current software and hopefully work."
