It wouldn't be prejudice on purpose. There's 4 of them, and 3 are children. If say, Tenzin wanted to start probending, it wouldn't be fair. You could have a team with say, a water, fire then him. No one else could do what he could, so it's an unfair advantage. It's like playing football and letting only one team have a quarterback. It just wouldn't be fair since not every team could have one.

They're air acolytes (or something like that) who live on Air Temple Island. Tenzin teaches them the airbender way of life, and they live as monks do.

Well, air would be pretty overpowered, seeing how it's not an actual strike, but a pushing ability. They would just reflect the blows, and push them off easily, no?

probably have to modify the rules in the future, have some similar rules to waterbending, no 'hosing' per se, stuff like that

I think bloodbending is only known to Katara and no one else, thus not stated. I guess lightning bending is legal, but since it takes time to create, I wouldn't think it would be too ideal.

As I said before, Katara taught one of her proteges bloodbending, but he became too mad with power and went rogue. He's also powerful enough to do it outside of the full moon.

Blood bending is probably shunned upon in society and can get a very severe punishment on the user. Kind of like Blood Magic from the Dragon Age games.

also katara is the only person who knows how to do it. sure its probably simple to learn but she was taught by the only known blood bender

She taught one of her proteges bloodbending, who subsequently went mad with power, and is also the only one powerful enough to do it outside of the full moon. I am sure that he will show up as a minor villain at some point.

I don't think that bloodbending is known among the society. but I agree with your lightningbedning. and in that case... if it is legal to use lightingbending is it then legal to redirect the lightning back?

We don't know if anyone knows how to redirect lightning besides supposedly alive Zuko.

when mako gets a job in episode 3 he and a dozen of other firebenders are lightning bending...

well a lot of the firebenders knows lightningbending and since Iroh was member of The White Lotus I will suggest that he has taught others

no that is ridiculous. a lot of firebenders shouldn't know lightning bending it's an extreme move, only the firelord, Azula and Iroh could do it in TLA.

I know, I'm saying it's stupid and shouldn't be that simple. it could be bending lightning or redirection. both should not have been so.

how would it be any different than metal bending? sure its a lot more common now but think of it, all of republic city is made of metal. and all of republic city uses elctrcity, so really theyre both dangerous, but seeing now as there are no grudges between nations I think its safe to assume no one is going to go on a lightning or metal bending rampage through the city.

when she first joined the Fire Ferrets and the other team got all in a tizzy about her being the Avatar and it 'wasnt fair' the ref specifically said that korra could only be on the team if she stuck to one form of bending. she chose water. if she airbended (airbent?) in a match, she could get disqualified or it could be a foul or something.

but the fire ferrets already have earth and fire benders so it would be pointless for her to switch between seasons

yea but if she got good at airbending(not mastering it just yet cause that takes years) then she could switch between airbending and waterbending only, or just permanently switch to airbending and be the only airbender in the league

but there wouldn't be any other airbenders in other teams. that would defeat the balance of the whole game.

On the episode where this happened, Tenzin was getting into the match (trying to be incognitos about it) but he jumps up and says something like "That's illegal!" I think..." I think it's just a way of "dirty boxing" or in this instance "dirty bending."

Yeah, but lightning is much slower than fire and probending is all about speed.

Well, there are only four airbenders in the world. For it to be fair there would have to be an air bender on every team. That's currently impossible, seeing as there are way more than four teams in the league and three of the airbenders are children.

I would figure any team could have any composition, but only one of each type. If you had an airbender, it isn't like the other team wouldn't have something you don't.

It's a game about balance. Who is the better bender of two people who bend the same element. That's why tie breakers have to have two benders of the same element. It's unevenly matched if they don't.
