Really irritates me when people who can pretty much play Nirvana- come as you are claim to be some sort of magnificent guitarist. I've been playing the guitar for around a year now and i'm not especially great, but it is a very hard instrument to learn really, I am learning the scales and octaves blahblahblah at the moment, god damn its hard.
I mainly play Metallica and AC DC songs, oh yeah.

That's because most people probably could. Picking up a skill is easy. The thing that makes great musicians notable is their mental ability and capability to communicate emotion through strings. Tons of people play technically way better than me, but when you ask me to play how I feel, I'll blow everyone out of the water.
An Asian kid could learn hotel california in an hour. You give them a cord sheet and ask them to improv through the song, they wouldn't be able to do it.

hahaha, you cant stand not having the last word, sometimes being the last to respond doesnt make you be right buddy, for example.now i have cleared my statement that your story is bullshit and that I believe you are infantile, I dont have nothing else to say, but youll reply me, because you wouldnt bear not to make clear you are the one right, but i wont reply back, thatll make my point
quit bitching, I'm sure you think that Herman Li and Sam Totman of Dragonforce, learned guitar overnight, how about Steve Vai, what about Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix and everyone else learned it overnight. learning guitar is the hardest thing i've done in my life. Now go home and play your fucking recorder
I would argue that bass is harder to play than guitar... as a good bassist you have a much high commitment to tying a rhythm section together with the drummer (just going off a standard 3-4 member band). I mean just look at John Paul Jones' work compared to Jimmy Page's with Led Zeppelin, I don't think you can say that Jones work was any less valuable because he played bass, in fact I would argue that in terms of the actual music being played (because Page's role in the band also extended beyond guitar work and very heavily into the production of the music) I find his work to be just as difficult, if not more so, to play than Page's work.
I think guitar is just one of those instruments that is really easy to pick up and start messing around with, but like anything else it's very difficult to actually get anything worthwhile out of it without putting the effort and time forth to learning it. Just my two cents.
Dude guitar is not easy at all, well not proper guitar.
It's easy if you wanna play songs with the same three or four chord progression but you can't go around calling yourself a guitarist after that you need to be playing at least a year and a half to maybe two years of guitar whilst learning scales to at least call yourself an amateur musician. If you hear some metal bands a majority of their solo's are played by using variations of scales below the twelfth fret, not to mention finger tapping, hammer on's, pull off's and pinch harmonics. You also need to train your fingers to move that fast. So please stop saying this shit and stop and I repeat STOP saying guitar is easy because I don't want fucking morons buying guitars and thinking their the next Ed Sheerin or however you spell that cunts name. Good-day sir!
