Hey man, if you're really close friends don't bother, it's better to lose a girlfriend then a your best friend. Speaks from experience… Had this amazing best friend. So close people thought we were dating, decided to try it out. And long story short, I did something bad and she got hurt bad. Decided to break up with me, got sad and yeah. Said she wants to be friends but hey, you all know it doesn't work out. I call our relationship now "Hi and Bye buddies" cause that's all we do. And then i realized what a huge mistake i did for asking her out… now i really miss her. So unless you don't want this to happen, better wait. That's my only advice. We've tried to be friends after, but I don't really think it's working out, or at least we aren't as close as before. I had the same story I knew a girl who was my best friend actually did start dating for a while then it just didn't work out it just never felt like she cared about me whenever I tried to set up a date with her just the 2 of us she would always invite other people then pay more attention to them than she would me I finally broke up with her and now we don't talk and I lost my best friend
