Korra Easter Egg
just a little something I noticed last night
In the Legend of Kora. Tahno purposely
Korra' s title and calls her
the Ovatar.
Now last night I decided to watch the Last
Airbender movie.... again.
I noticed that in the movie, they pronounce "avatar"
as "ovatar."
This leads me to believe that this is the Lok writers
trying to make fun of M. Night Shamalamadingdong
and his destruction of their great show.

M. Night Shyamalan is a native of India, born into a Hindu family. The scriptures of Hindu are in Hindi, which is where we get the word "avatar" from. The Hindi word for "avatar" is अवतार, and if you can't read Hindi (which I can't, either), that transliterates to "avatara", which is pronounced as "ovtar".
Therefore, the pronunciation in the shitty film (which, thankfully, I have never seen) is technically correct, but also goes against the pronunciation from the series that we all adore.
Language is such a funny thing, no?

I'm, fairly new to watching the avatar series, but I must say I love it. So thank you FJ for introducing me to it. And thank you as well for preventing me from ever going within ten feet of that "movie".

lets all forget the movie and start focusing on how cute pabu is.
The most important rules of bendingtime "We do not speak of the movie" and "There is no movie".
